Contact Submission
The client makes initial contact with One Design Ballarat via website, phone or email.
Formalise Project Brief (1-2 weeks)
The client sits down for a discovery meeting with a member of the One Design team and begins the initial step of the architectural design process. In the pre-design phase, One Design discusses the overall details with the client to learn as much as possible about their project. This task can be completed in either an in-person meeting or via email.
Fee Proposal (1-3 days)
A fee proposal based on the agreed client brief is then prepared. Along with relevant pricing, this document will contain any specific items required by the client, any consultants to be used in the process and all necessary drawings.
On-Site Visitation (1 week)
After the acceptance of the fee proposal, a site visit and more formal discussion in relation to the brief will be arranged. This gives both One Design and you, as our client, time to review any aspects of your site and project scope.
Design Concept (2-3 Weeks)
In this phase, the One Design team will begin translating the agreed client brief into the building design concept. Depending on the project, this step will often involve preliminary sketches / 3D Rendering or physical modelling. Further to this, preliminary siting, overall floor plans, and proposed elevations, depending on clients' brief and/or requirements, will be completed. These drawings can then be used to discuss initial pricing and inclusions with your preferred builder. If you don't have a preferred builder selected at this stage, we can help recommend a suitable builder for your project.
Develop Working Drawings (2-3 Weeks)
Once the concept designs are accepted and approved, One Design will create working drawings that can be used to finalise any structural engineering and energy assessment reports. We then apply for your building permit to begin construction.
